CASTE- BASED RESERVATION SYSTEM IN INDIA
The matter of concern is the caste-based reservation system which is in needs to be amended. Three particular castes are provided reservations in India known as SC, ST & OBC. Only by being in these three castes in India, you can have many perks in different fields. I will talk about where it is majorly concerned, the education and employment process, if I state some data according to a survey in 2012 there were approx 3.5% of employed people were in the public sector and almost the same in the private sector but it's 2021 now this data has no relevance if we consider the present scenario in this privatization era public sector has only 1% of jobs remained and for that people give competitive exams every year, we are clearly aware of the competition faced by the students, this caste-based reservation system makes it more difficult for them.
Regardless of private-public sector job opportunities, this system has hindered and created hurdles for many people out there, my question is why someone (only because of a particular surname) gets relaxation in clearing the process of examination? why the scoring scale is different? why a general category student has to score 180 whereas a student with reservation caste has to score 151 doesn't it seems unfair? my objection is not with those who genuinely deserve this because of the challenges in their life but with those who are getting this facility despite having all their necessary fulfillment done or even are more privileged than any other general caste.
India is developing country scenarios have changed so should the laws, my two cents on this issue will be that this system of providing relaxation on basis of caste should be changed to reservation provided on basis of their living situations, their earnings, and their capabilities, this way India will get some more brilliant minds and the dissatisfaction of present ones who are dealing with this and getting demoralized for opting any field because of this issue will be cleared. Reserving seats in top schools, colleges, institutions, and jobs for those who can't afford but deserve to be there would be great rather than giving the seats to those who can afford them easily.
